First up: AutoScout24 and their Head of Talent Acquisition, Alex Ganyukov.
Alex, what’s your company’s mission?
Our main goal is to help people fulfill their mobility dreams simply and efficiently through our platform. In other words, our core value proposition is that we facilitate car sales between car buyers and car dealers.
What’s it like to work at AutoScout24? What are your key values?
At AutoScout24, we have 55+ nationalities working across 3 hubs in Europe, including Amsterdam, Berlin and Munich (which is the HQ). We also have offices in 6 different countries and operate in 18 overall. Currently, AutoScout24 is in the growing mode. We hired 300+ people last year and are planning to continue with our growth this year. We have big plans to expand both our business and tech.

What interesting challenges are your tech teams working on?
We have our core platform as well as some side projects. The current focus is to create a better experience for our users, automating things, understanding the customer behaviour better, helping our dealers and improving the flow. We mainly work on building new features so our tech team has a chance to really contribute to the development of the product as well as shape it.
What does your team and tech stack look like?
First of all, our tech stack is 100% Cloud-based. On top of that, we use:
- CI / CD / Infrastructure as Code
- DevOps, ‘You build it — you run it’
- Full Stack Cross Functional Teams
- Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node, Swift, Kotlin
- AWS, Hadoop, GitHub and Kubernetes
How did you adapt to the challenges of the Covid pandemic?
Covid did affect us, but we tried our best to support our people, provide them with all the tools, software and flexibility. We offered the option to get a vaccination through our company and plan to offer booster shots early this year.
We of course also work in line with all the government implemented rules while still offering the option to come to an office in the locations where that’s allowed.
What are the perks of working at your company?
We offer flexible working hours, remote work during the pandemic and also the chance to work in-office for those who wish to. We have internal and external learning options, conferences and events support as well as the opportunity to build and try new things while we develop our platform.
What are your hiring goals over the next 12 months?
We’re looking to welcome over 100 new developers into the AutoScout24 family this year. The company doubled its size last year and is looking to become even stronger in 2022. We’re hiring across all levels from juniors to leads.
